Although in August rainfall was up 64% from the average year, overall we had warm weather, which provided favorable growth for the grapes. Sugar accumulation was relatively slow due to insect pests however, so we postponed the harvest until mid-October, when the grapes gained above 20o in sugar with a healthy condition. In spite of these difficulties, the grapes for this wine displayed very balanced figures in every component, making this vintage a fairly unusual one.

yTasting Commentsz
Fantastic aromas of honey, white peach, and young pineapple, with a hint of a toasty note, drift up to the nose. With a silky texture on the palate, this wine displays an excellent balance of abundant fruitiness, and a soft yet crisp acidity. This develops into a very elegant flavor followed by a refreshing lemony finish, and a pleasant astringent aftertaste. Rich flavored foods such as grilled sea eel (yaki anago), fried dark leg meat, and fried flatfish dressed with a clear, sticky sauce (ankake) will go well with this wine, which has both delicacy and magnificence.
