We experienced cloudy and rainy days since the beginning of Spring, resulting in above-average rainfall for several months, except for June. A low amount of sunlight and a cool summer delayed the growing speed of the grapes by about one week later than usual. Although the weather changed at the end of August with sunny and hot days, the growth speed was still below normal, with relatively low sugar content. However, because the quality of the acidity was better than usual, this vintage turned out to be a balanced one through our winemaking process, which ensured maximum flavor from the grapes. |
yTasting Commentsz
Clear pale yellow in the glass, with delicate, refreshing aromas of lemon, lime,
and green apple. A charming fruitiness with fresh acidity and a subtle bubble
on the palate, which then develops into a live, pleasant mouthfeel, followed by
a slightly astringent aftertaste. Green salad with walnuts and lemon dressing
will go well with this wine. Also seafood dishes such as vongole bianco and sauted
whelk shell (Japanese "tsubugai" shellfish) and string beans match this
wine. (Comment on August 2004) |
